What is the fee for a session?
The standard fee is $100.00 (tax exempt) per 50 minute session. However, if financial difficulties are keeping you from pursuing counselling, please inquire about sliding scale opportunities in order to set up a reduced fee.
Are your services covered by OHIP?
Counselling services provided by private practitioners are not covered by OHIP.
Are your services covered by my private insurance?
As a prelicensed practitioner, my services are not covered by insurance.
What is a prelicensed practitioner?
A practitioner who has received training, attends regular supervision with a Registered Psychotherapist and is in the process of registering with the appropriate regulating body.
How long are your sessions?
Sessions are generally 50 minutes unless otherwise determined.
How does payment work?
Sessions are provided as pay-by-service, which means that your fee is charged at the end of each session. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or e-transfer.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations can be made by email, phone, or text. A cancellation is considered late when it is made less than 24 hours before the session start time. In this case, there will be a missed appointment fee. A no-show is subject to the same guidelines.
What is the scope of your services?
As a prelicensed practitioner under the supervision of a Registered Psychotherapist, I am held accountable under the Psychotherapy Act. As such, I am bound to the rules and regulations of the College of Regulated Psychotherapists of Ontario during the process of registration.
What can I expect in session?
The initial phase of counselling is all about getting to know you and your comfort level, so that our time together becomes a safe space for exploration. We will then move into depth work, utilizing a combination of approaches that compliment your process.
